Santo Domingo, – El Centro de Resolución Alternativa de Controversia (CRC) de la Cámara de Comercio y Producción de Santo Domingo firmó un acuerdo con Major League Baseball (MLB) Oficina República Dominicana, para que los casos de
arbitraje entre equipos de Grandes Ligas y peloteros dominicanos puedan ser conocidos en la jurisdicción de Santo Domingo.
El Acuerdo, firmado por Manuel Luna Sued, presidente del CRC y el Sr. Rafael Pérez, en representación del MLB, se enmarca dentro de la estrategia del CRC de institucionalizar el arbitraje deportivo en República Dominicana y así proporcionar una solución alternativa a la justicia ordinaria a las controversias que se presentan en las diferentes disciplinas deportivas. La firma con MLB es el primer acuerdo que se firma dentro de esta estrategia, según se informó en el acto de firma llevado a cabo en la sede del CRC.
El Señor Rafael Pérez, representante de MLB, dijo que esa institución siempre ha cuidado los derechos fundamentales de todos los peloteros que firman acuerdo con los equipos de Grandes Ligas, pero que con este acuerdo se aprovecha el prestigio y las facilidades y procesos institucionales del CRC, lo que beneficiará a todas las partes envueltas.
De su lado, Luna Sued afirmó que este es solo el primer acuerdo que firma el CRC en materia de arbitraje deportivo, pero que esperan firmar otros en 2015 para lo cual esperan involucrar al Comité Olímpico Dominicano. “Para nosotros este acuerdo marca el inicio de una nueva modalidad de arbitraje, los deportivos, que gracias a la reputación que tiene nuestro centro, estaremos desarrollando, dando la posibilidad de que los peloteros dominicanos tengan la posibilidad de conocer sus casos aquí, en Santo Domingo” dijo Luna Sued.
Según se informó el CRC cuenta con árbitros reconocidos internacionalmente para conocer los casos que se producen entre peloteros dominicanos y equipos de Grande Ligas y además se anunció desde ya un seminario que se impartirá a mediados de año sobre Arbitraje Deportivo que se llevará a cabo en Santo Domingo.
