Santo Domingo, R.D. Mayo 17, 2021.- Como parte de su misión de apoyo al sector productivo, el Instituto Nacional de Formación Técnico Profesional (INFOTEP) entregó certificados a 25 nuevos técnicos del Programa de Formación Dual, que desarrolla junto a la empresa minera Barrick Pueblo Viejo en las comunidades de Cotuí, Zambrana y Maimón.
Los jóvenes aprendices fueron certificados como Técnicos en Mecánica Industrial para Minería, bajo esta modalidad de capacitación que combina una formación teórica-tecnológica que se desarrolla en un centro del INFOTEP, con un aprendizaje vinculado con la realidad práctica del trabajo.
El director general del INFOTEP, Rafael Santos Badía, señaló que esa institución y la Barrick, están capacitando actualmente 129 aprendices, a través del Programa de Formación Dual, en las carreras de Electricidad e Instrumentación Industrial, Mecánica industrial para minería, Metalmecánica y Electromecánica automotriz para Minería.
Santos Badía valoró el hecho de que, además de priorizar la formación permanente de su capital humano, la Barrick desarrolla gran parte de su responsabilidad social en las comunidades circunvecinas, capacitando a las personas en oficios que les ayuden a incorporarse al mercado productivo.
“Seguimos en esta alianza histórica en que conjuntamente ofrecemos oportunidades de capacitación y empleo con la consiguiente mejoría de la amplia comunidad circunvecina y del país, de la mano con el avance de esta empresa”, expuso el director del INFOTEP.
De su lado, la presidenta de Barrick Pueblo Viejo, Juana Barceló Cueto, expuso que esa empresa se apoya en el desarrollo sostenible y que por eso dentro de los pilares de su carta de responsabilidad social la educación juega un papel fundamental.
“Vamos a apoyar a los jóvenes de nuestras comunidades cercanas para que se desarrollen y tengan de qué vivir; para que obtengan un trabajo digno y mejoren su calidad de vida”, refirió.
Barceló Cueto sostuvo que uno de los mejores programas que tiene la Barrick, es el de formación dual que desarrolla en alianza con el INFOTEP.
La presidenta de Barrick Pueblo Viejo destacó que de 25 jóvenes que se formaron en Mecánica Industrial, nueve pertenecen al sexo femenino, “lo cual indica que se están cambiando paradigmas y las mujeres están dando un ejemplo en sus comunidades”.
Resultados de la alianza
El Programa de Formación Dual que desarrollan el INFOTEP y Barrick Pueblo Viejo inició en el año 2013. Se recuerda que en 2016 se graduaron 28 jóvenes y un 98%, es decir, 26 de estos aprendices, fueron incorporados a la nómina de la empresa.
La alianza entre INFOTEP y Barrick también ha permitido que en el período 2020-2021 se hayan desarrollado unos 40 cursos o acciones formativas, en beneficio de 794 participantes.
Se trata de capacitaciones puntuales que abarcan 24 áreas de formación, entre las que destacan Excel básico, intermedio y avanzado, Impacto de los refrigerantes en la capa de ozono, Instalación de equipos y accesorios de baños de cocina, Inteligencia emocional, trabajo en equipo y oratoria.
También se ofrecieron acciones formativas en manejo de estrés laboral, lectura e interpretación de planos sanitarios, manejo de desechos peligrosos, matemática básica aplicada, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point y la técnica de las 5s.
Asimismo, en 2018 INFOTEP y Barrick Pueblo Viejo firmaron un acuerdo de cooperación interinstitucional para implementar un programa de formación y asistencia técnica, dirigido a empleados, contratistas de la empresa y jóvenes de las comunidades cercanas al área de operación de la minera.
Finalmente, en diciembre del año pasado, el director del INFOTEP y la presidenta de la empresa minera firmaron una carta compromiso para la instalación de talleres móviles de refrigeración y plomería, en el distrito municipal de Zambrana, en Cotuí.
