Bajo el lema “Cuela tu colección en casa”, Café Mamá Candín se propuso fomentar la valorización de nuestras aves endémicas por medio de un lenguaje artístico, expresado en objetos de colección y a la vez uso cotidiano que forman parte del auténtico ritual del café.
La empresa de café orgánico de San Francisco de Macorís ha lanzado una edición limitada de su Colección Aves Endémicas de la República Dominicana, compuesta por tazas de café y cucharitas decoradas con aves nativas, ideadas por dedicados artesanos dominicanos a los que la empresa de esta manera respalda su labor.
Durante diez meses, cada uno representado por una especie diferente, estos artículos se presentarán en un kit consistente en una preciosa caja rojo intenso coleccionable, que contiene la taza de café con su platillo, cucharita personalizada con el ave y un paquete de Café Mamá Candín orgánico con jengibre.
La colección estará disponible en el mercado desde mayo de 2021 hasta febrero de 2022, para celebrar durante cada mes una especie de la fauna alada dominicana, y solo se puede adquirir a través del portal de Bolitos & Candín, www.bolitoscandin.com/es/, o por su Instagram @mamacandin.
La creadora de la taza ha sido la joven artesana Julyneida Rodríguez, “July”, quien desde pequeña se inclinó por las artes plásticas y actualmente ha incursionado en la arcilla, logrando modelar las pequeñas réplicas tridimensionales de las aves en las tazas.
Mientras las cucharitas, también finamente personalizadas con la correspondiente especie, son obra de las manos del reconocido artesano Patricio Correa, quien elabora sus piezas con trozos de madera recolectada en las playas dominicanas, fibras de palma de coco y otros materiales reusables.
El ave de mayo es la cigua palmera y la de junio, la garza, ambas especies en estado de conservación de no extinción. La caja incluye una tarjeta con datos curiosos de estas aves. En el caso de la cigua palmera, empieza diciendo que la famosa ave nacional es capaz de reforestar más que 10 hombres y construye su nido tipo casa con varios compartimentos en la palma real.
