Visita Ministro Relaciones Exteriores DP World en República Dominicana

Boca Chica, Santo Domingo Este, R.D. Julio, 2021.- Ejecutivos de la empresa proveedora de soluciones logísticas DP World, recibieron en sus instalaciones al Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores, Roberto Álvarez, quien tuvo la oportunidad de conocer el ecosistema logístico de la organización, las unidades de negocio que la conforman, así como el plan de crecimiento que se encuentra ejecutando la compañía en el país.

A su llegada, el Ministro fue recibido por Morten Johansen, CEO de DP World en la República Dominicana y varios de los miembros de su equipo directivo. Álvarez fue acompañado por Hugo Rivera, Viceministro de Asuntos Económicos y Cooperación Internacional, así como de otros miembros del MIREX.

Durante el recorrido, Johansen compartió con el representante de esta entidad gubernamental el plan de crecimiento de DP World en el país y su visión de convertir a República Dominicana en el HUB logístico más importante de la región de las Américas. Dentro de esta estrategia, la cual se encuentra alineada al propósito del Estado Dominicano, se encuentran varios proyectos que la empresa ha ejecutado y que se encuentran en proceso, como son la expansión del muelle principal, el fortalecimiento de su infraestructura portuaria, así como la disposición de 3,000,000 metros cuadrados de terreno para el desarrollo de zonas francas para manufactura.

Asimismo, el ejecutivo reafirmó el compromiso que tiene la empresa de incrementar la competitividad y conectividad del país, colaborando en proyectos que busquen alcanzar ese mismo objetivo. Uno de ellos, es la participación de República Dominicana en «Expo 2020 Dubái» y la cual será posible gracias a la firma de un acuerdo de colaboración de la empresa con el MIREX. Gracias a esta alianza se podrán mostrar las ventajas que posee la nación en materia económica y de inversión, lo que incidirá en el incremento de inversiones extranjeras y en el desarrollo económico.

Con la firma de este acuerdo, se generarán nuevas inversiones y se crearán alianzas estratégicas que incidirán de manera directa en el desarrollo económico del país», afirmó el ejecutivo.
