Samaná, República Dominicana. Agosto 2021.- El presidente administrador del Instituto de Desarrollo y Crédito Cooperativo (IDECOOP), licenciado Franco de los Santos, junto a la subdirectora de la institución, licenciada Lissette Jiménez, sostuvieron este fin de semana un encuentro con la principal Asociación de Pescadores del municipio cabecera Santa Bárbara de Samaná, con el propósito de convertir la Asociación en cooperativa.
Los pescadores, que participaron en el encuentro, ofrecieron explicaciones al titular del IDECOOP, sobre las operaciones comerciales de sus negocios de pesca. Cabe resaltar que una vez sean convertidos en cooperativas sus actividades productivas, no solo permitirá que se dinamice la economía en la provincia, sino que además impactará positivamente a decenas de familias que se sustentan de la actividad pesquera.
El presidente de la Asociación de Pescadores Nuevo Renacer, Señor Juan Carlos Rijo Hazmin, manifestó: “que lo único que necesitan por parte del gobierno es un respaldo económico, que les permita convertir su asociación en una entidad comercial sólida y sustentable”.
Franco de Los Santos, quien encabezó la actividad, se comprometió a darles todo el apoyo necesario, a través del IDECOOP, a la Asociación de Pescadores Nuevo Renacer, la cual agrupa a más de 280 pescadores.
“Estoy comprometido, a través del IDECOOP, como funcionario del gobierno que encabeza el presidente Luis Abinader y por mandato del mismo, en fomentar el desarrollo del cooperativismo en el país, mediante la constitución de cooperativas que beneficien a ustedes, los pequeños productores y microempresarios del sector pesquero, al igual que a otros sectores de producción nacional”, manifestó el ejecutivo del IDECOOP a los presentes.
En el encuentro también participó el alcalde de Samaná, Lic. Nelson Antonio Núñez, quien felicitó a la Asociación de Pescadores por tomar la decisión de constituirse en cooperativa.
Como parte de los resultados de la reunión, quedaron coordinados varios encuentros con un equipo técnico del IDECOOP, bajo la orientación de la Unidad de Programas y Proyectos Especiales de la institución, para iniciar las capacitaciones y conformación del comité gestor de la futura cooperativa.
En el evento participaron también, productores de coco y artesanos, interesados en constituir cooperativas, quiénes por igual participarán del proceso de capacitación sobre cooperativismo con miras a crear empresas cooperativas.
La jornada de trabajo se enmarca dentro del programa “Impulsando la Economía Social y Solidaria”, que lleva a cabo el gobierno del presidente Luis Abinader, a través del IDECOOP, con el propósito de fomentar el desarrollo del cooperativismo en el país.-.
