Santo Domingo, R. D. Abril 14, 2021.- En febrero del año en curso se realizaron más de 820 mil transacciones de pagos móviles que implicaron un monto total de RD$799 millones de pesos, informó la Asociación de Bancos Múltiples (ABA).
La ABA explicó que el incremento fue de 16.6% en cuanto al valor, es decir, RD$114 millones más que en febrero de 2020, cuando la cifra alcanzó un total de RD$685 millones.
Detalló que, con respecto al volumen, hubo 4,521 transacciones adicionales con relación al mismo período del año anterior.
En un documento de prensa, la ABA explicó que esos resultados son sustentados por los crecimientos en operaciones de pago de facturas y transferencia de fondos, según las estadísticas publicadas por el Departamento de Sistema de Pagos del Banco Central de la República Dominicana (BCRD).
Los pagos móviles vinculan los teléfonos móviles con la cuenta y tarjeta de crédito de los clientes para hacer operaciones bancarias en tiempo real. De ese modo, los usuarios de los bancos pueden realizar recargas de minutos, transferencias de fondos de persona a persona, pagos de facturas de servicios y consumos en puntos de venta.
La ABA expresó que este instrumento es parte de las herramientas digitales que ha utilizado la banca múltiple en los últimos años para facilitar a los clientes el acceso a los servicios.
