La Asociación La Vega Real de Ahorros y Préstamos (Alaver) realizó su Asamblea General Ordinaria Anual, en la que informó que los activos totales de la institución financiera alcanzaron en 2020 un total de RD$11,468 millones para un aumento de 9%, al haber crecido RD$976 millones más en relación con el ejercicio del año precedente.
Los activos productivos de Alaver, conformados por la cartera de crédito neta más las inversiones en otras entidades, aumentaron en RD$958 millones, un 11%, al pasar de RD$8,960 millones en 2019 a RD$9,918 millones a diciembre del 2020.Asimismo, la asamblea seleccionó al señor Rubén Francisco Álvarez Martínez como nuevo presidente de la Junta de Directores de la organización financiera, mientras que Pedro Alorda Thomas, pasó a ser miembro de la Junta de Directores de la entidad.
Álvarez Martínez formaba parte de la Junta de Directores de Alaver desde el año 2007. Alorda Thomas, reconocido empresario de La Vega, lideró durante 14 años el proceso de crecimiento y transformación de Alaver hacia una institución financiera moderna, basada en tecnología y con procesos ágiles enfocados a un servicio de excelencia.
Álvarez Martínez, nuevo presidente, es un abogado graduado en la Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre Maestra (PUCMM) con formación continua en temas regulatorios, gobierno corporativo y otros temas relacionados con la actividad financiera.
