Santo Domingo, R.D. Junio 15, 2021.- Biviana Riveiro, Directora Ejecutiva del Centro de Exportación e Inversión de la República Dominicana (ProDominicana) y Fahed K R Hilles Korma, representante de la International Center for Strategic Studies on International Investment (ICSSFI), acordaron promover la Inversión Extranjera Directa (IED) en República Dominicana desde la Región de Euroasia, Oriente Medio y África.
El acuerdo contempla el desarrollo de estudios de investigación en materia de IED, su fomento y protección. Igualmente, implica consensuar soluciones para el incremento de herramientas de atracción de las inversiones.
Biviana Riveiro señaló que: “ampliar los mercados hacia países donde llegan los productos dominicanos y desde donde proceden las inversiones extranjeras es indispensable para el posicionamiento del país en la escena internacional”. El fomento de la presencia de la oferta exportable de la República Dominicana en la región de Euroasia es otro eje importante del acuerdo. Su consecución implica la creación de mecanismos de promoción de las exportaciones de un modo sostenido.
El representante de ICSSFI en República Dominicana, Fahed K R Hilles, resaltó su compromiso en promover los lazos comerciales y de negocios entre República Dominicana y regiones que tradicionalmente no han tenido una presencia significativa en la economía dominicana como Euroasia, incluyendo Oriente Medio y África.
Para lograr los objetivos propuestos, ambas entidades impulsarán una agenda de trabajo orientada a la celebración de foros, seminarios y ferias. Asimismo, el intercambio de experiencias empresariales.
El acuerdo entre ICSSFI y ProDominicana viene a complementar las acciones diseñadas en el contexto del Plan Nacional de Fomento de las Exportaciones. Asimismo, refuerza las estrategias implementadas por el país para incrementar la captación y retención de IED.
