SANTO DOMINGO 2021. – Progresando con Solidaridad (Prosoli) y la Universidad Católica Santo Domingo (UCSD) firmaron un convenio de cooperación para desarrollar actividades académicas, de investigación y de extensión, orientadas a fortalecer el desarrollo de las competencias y habilidades de jóvenes residentes en todo el territorio nacional.
Dichas actividades consistirán en capacitaciones en diferentes áreas y materias, dirigidas a múltiples sectores de la sociedad dominicana, con el objetivo de reducir la pobreza, garantizando una mayor calidad de vida.
La directora general de Prosoli dijo que los hombres y mujeres de la institución que dirige están comprometidos con mejorar la calidad de vida de la gente y de las familias dominicanas, compartiendo así la visión que tiene el presidente Abinader, la cual les ha dado un nuevo enfoque a las ayudas sociales teniendo como base la dignidad.
“Este convenio que estamos firmando hoy nos refleja la satisfacción del deber cumplido que cada día nos permitirá levantarnos con la alegría de que hay mucho por hacer por el país, agregando que pudimos capacitar a cerca de 750 jóvenes en el diplomado de liderazgo universitario en 14 regionales de Prosoli el pasado año y que pretendemos que este año tenga un mayor alcance”, manifestó directora de Prosoli
Mientras que el rector de la UCSD Monseñor Benito Ángeles, expresó que la firma de este acuerdo institucional es de mucha importancia para el fortalecimiento de la educación en el país, y dará la oportunidad a cientos de jóvenes a formarse en los distintos saberes.
“Creemos que la formación es vital para lograr una mejor sociedad y precisamente la educación es la base para poder lograr este fin. Visualizamos en este encuentro una serie de potenciales que podríamos tener nosotros entre la UCSD y Prosoli, esta entidad forma parte de una mística de servicio social y comunitario alrededor de los pobres, nuestra meta es seguir preparando a la juventud dominicana de escasos recursos”, manifestó Ángeles.
Ambas instituciones se comprometieron a impartir un Diplomado sobre Liderazgo Juvenil y Emprendimiento, dirigido a mil cincuenta (1,050) estudiantes jóvenes de todo el país, cuyos diplomas serán certificados por la entidad académica, una vez que éstos concluyan satisfactoriamente el nivel de estudio.
Así mismo, el convenio estima la creación de un programa de becas para los estudiantes meritorios que pertenecen a las familias de Progresando con Solidaridad, ya sea a través del patrocinio estatal o privado.
También, las entidades procuran fortalecer el Sistema Nacional de Salud a través de la formación de enfermeras, con iniciativas educativas y docentes que incluyan gestión de centros de salud, tecnologías de la información y la comunicación, así como otras áreas de interés que consideren pertinentes.
Durante el acto de firma se designaron equipos de enlace que darán seguimiento a los compromisos contraídos, así como también se supervisará y medirá el impacto de las acciones.
Este esfuerzo en conjunto de Prosoli y UCSD, que tendrá una duración de dos (02) años, también busca promover y educar en valores a través de talleres y conferencias
