Santo Domingo, D.N. – El Banco Popular Dominicano convocó a estudiantes meritorios a presentar su solicitud a una de las 65 becas disponibles para realizar estudios superiores en 12 instituciones educativas dominicanas, dentro de su programa de becas Excelencia Popular.
Los estudiantes meritorios que deseen formar parte del programa de becas deben aplicar a través del departamento correspondiente en la universidad de su preferencia e informar su interés de participar en Excelencia Popular. Con estas becas de estudio, el Banco Popular cubre al 100% los gastos del centro educativo para cada estudiante. De igual manera, la institución financiera ofrece apoyo para equipos y materiales necesarios para su formación, seguimiento personalizado y reconocimientos a los becados más sobresalientes.
Instituciones y carreras disponibles
Las instituciones educativas con becas disponibles en este momento son: Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE), Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), Universidad Central del Este (UCE), Instituto Tecnológico de las Américas (ITLA), Instituto Especializado de Estudios Superiores Loyola (IEESL), Instituto Politécnico Loyola (IPL), Escuela Internacional de Arte y Diseño Chavón, Universidad APEC, Universidad Dominicana O&M, Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) y Universidad ISA.
Las carreras que aplican a esta convocatoria de becas son Tecnología de Redes, Tecnología en Multimedia, Ingeniería de Software, Ingeniería de Sistemas, Ingeniería en Ciberseguridad, Tecnología de Alimentos, Ingeniería Mecatrónica, Ingeniería Industrial, Economía, Mercadeo, Matemáticas (concentración en Estadística y Ciencias Actuariales), Administración Hotelera, Contabilidad, Agronomía, Administración de Empresas y Ecología y Gestión Ambiental.
Formación complementaria
Excelencia Popular, que cuenta con 202 becados activos y 222 egresados, tiene como objetivo aumentar las oportunidades para que los jóvenes se conviertan en capital humano productivo y contribuyan al desarrollo sostenible del país.
Para ello, además de la beca educativa, el programa posee una dinámica de seguimiento y acompañamiento a los becados, que incluye formación complementaria, como encuentros y charlas con expertos sobre buenos tratos, cultura digital y finanzas personales, entre otros.
Asimismo, si existen plazas disponibles, los estudiantes pueden cursar pasantías o integrarse a la plantilla laboral en filiales de Grupo Popular.
