Julio 2021.- La presidenta de la Cámara de Comercio y Producción de Puerto Plata, Mileyka Brugal, considero que es necesario tomar en cuenta la realidad actual para mejorar la conectividad del destino, entendiendo y el hecho de que el viajero actual es más tecnológico, más exigente y espera que todo se resuelva con un clik.
Al participar como expositora en el conversatorio Puerto Plata Somos Todos, que con el tema de la Conectividad organizó, Nice Dominicana en el hotel Blue Jack Tar de Playa Dorada, Brugal destacó las bondades que tiene el destino Puerto Plata ampliadas con las de los destinos cercanos.
Resaltó que el viajero actual no solo sale de vacaciones para descansar y aislarse de la rutina, sino que busca estar conectado y compartir todo lo interesante que encuentra en el camino, por lo que la conectividad ya no solo se refiere a oferta o frecuencia de vuelos y tiene mucho que ver con la disponibilidad de Internet, GPS, digitalización y código QR.
Dijo que el turista actual es más exigente, tiene estadías más cortas y demanda respuestas más rápidas.
Mileyka Brugal destacó la importancia de la iniciativa de Nice Dominicana de generar este espacio de diálogo sobre las iniciativas para potenciar el destino, igualmente ponderó la propuesta de Joel Santos de que se considere la región Norte como un macro destino, integrando más las diferentes propuestas de la región.
En el panel participaron además Carlos Rodoli, director de los aeropuertos de Puerto Plata y Samaná, Luis José Chávez, en representación del director del Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil, IDAC, Román Caamaño y el empresario Joel Santos, teniendo como moderador al periodista turístico Leonardo Medrano y Katherine Henríquez, CEO de Nice Dominicana.
El evento fue patrocinado por el IDAC, AFP Banreservas, Aerodom by Vinci, la Alcaldía de Puerto Plata entre otras instituciones.
