Santo Domingo, Rep. Dom. Agosto 9, 2019.- Entre enero y mayo del año en curso, los bancos múltiples incrementaron en RD$1,063 millones, que representan un 145.5%, los descuentos aplicados a las empresas mediante la modalidad de factoring (descuento de facturas), lo cual evidencia una consistente recuperación en las actividades económicas que utilizan este producto financiero.
Así informó la Asociación de Bancos Múltiples de la República Dominicana (ABA), tras explicar que, a diciembre de 2020, el monto de Descuentos de Facturas era de RD$730 millones y pasó a totalizar RD$1,793 millones al finalizar mayo de 2021. Esta cifra es prácticamente el doble de lo registrado hasta diciembre de 2019, cuando alcanzaba RD$898 millones.
“También el llamado factoraje o factoring, es una modalidad de financiamiento en el que una empresa cede sus facturas pendientes por cobrar a una entidad financiera para recibir el importe de estas de forma anticipada”, puntualizó la ABA.
Al respecto, en un documento de prensa, la ABA destacó la importancia de este tipo de financiamiento para empresas que componen el aparato productivo nacional, especialmente para capital de trabajo de pequeñas y medianas empresas.
Entre los beneficios que representa el factoraje para las empresas, citó la obtención de liquidez inmediata, que les permite cubrir gastos operativos, administrativos, enfrentar alguna contingencia, realizar inversiones, entre otros compromisos o metas financieras.
El arrendamiento financiero o Leasing
Por su parte, la ABA informó que los arrendamientos financieros (leasing) de los bancos múltiples alcanzaron los RD$8,503 millones al finalizar el mes de mayo, lo que significó un incremento de RD$395 millones durante los primeros cinco meses de 2021, equivalente a un crecimiento de 4.9%.
“Las actividades empresariales pueden acometer inversiones utilizando este instrumento financiero sin tener que erogar una fuerte cantidad de recursos propios y a la vez beneficiarse del uso de bienes que, al término de la vigencia del contrato, podrían ejercer la opción de compra por el valor residual en caso de querer incorporar dichos bienes a sus activos”, especificó.
Asimismo, la Asociación de Bancos señaló que, desde diciembre de 2019, esta modalidad de crédito se ha mantenido en aumento y que el monto acumulado a esa fecha era de RD$7,651 millones.
“Todo esto refleja que diversas actividades empresariales están haciendo mayor uso de la utilización del leasing para apoyar sus necesidades de inversión en maquinarias y equipos para el desarrollo de sus actividades”, agregó la entidad que reúne a los bancos múltiples del país.
El leasing, indicó, se utiliza mayormente para las inversiones en equipos y maquinarias de producción.
