Latinoamérica está obligada a impulsar la denominada economía digital para favorecer el desarrollo y afrontar con garantías crisis como la actual que vive el mundo con la pandemia de la covid-19.
Este es el tema central de un foro virtual que Efe y la empresa Huawei organizan el próximo lunes con la participación de representantes del sector público, ministros y funcionarios de varios gobiernos latinoamericanos y expertos de las tecnologías de la información y comunicaciones.
El foro “Conectividad para la prosperidad compartida. El Esencial Motor Económico Digital” pretende contribuir al diálogo sobre la economía digital y el crecimiento sostenible en América Latina y el Caribe, aseguró Catherine Chen, Senior Vice Presidente de Huawei Technologies.
Mientras el mundo se enfrenta a la pandemia y la recuperación económica, Huawei estima que es esencial el papel transformador de la conectividad de banda ancha y las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones (TIC) para favorecer el desarrollo.
“El desarrollo de las TIC es la respuesta a estos nuevos desafíos, habilitando la economía digital, impulsando un nuevo crecimiento económico y una mayor inclusión digital en la región”, afirmó Catherine Chen.
Los países latinoamericanos y del Caribe se encuentran en una segunda franja del desarrollo tecnológico en el uso de las tres variables que marcan la economía digital: el acceso a banda ancha, los servicios en la nube y las herramientas de la inteligencia artificial.
“La tecnología aminora el impacto de una crisis como la pandemia. En los países más desarrollados la caída en el PIB ha sido de un 7 por ciento y Latinoamérica del 14 por ciento lo que demuestra la trascendencia de la economía digital”, explicó Joaquín Saldaña, director de Estrategia y Marketing de Huawei Latinoamérica.
“Un mundo conectado e inteligente con las tecnologías de la información y comunicaciones permitirá a Latinoamérica alcanzar la suficiente madurez para llegar a la economía digital”, agregó Saldaña.
En este contexto, en el foro organizado por Efe y Huawei intervendrán representantes del sector público de variosGobiernos latinoamericanos y privado para debatir cuales son las soluciones de política pública para la transformación digital en curso.
Se expondrá también cómo la tecnología beneficia la vida diaria y las oportunidades de países con un sector industrial y de manufactura avanzado como México para aprovechar en el uso de las nuevas tecnologías.
