Santo Domingo, R.D. Mayo 5, 2021.– La magnitud del déficit habitacional total de RD al año 2017 descendió a aproximadamente 830 mil viviendas según estudios de la Unidad Asesora de Análisis Económico y Social del Ministerio de Economía, Planificación y Desarrollo (MEPyD) y de la Oficina Nacional de Estadística (ONE), para paliar la situación, Hábitat Dominicana cuenta con el proyecto “Construyamos juntos para familias”, dirigido a dominicanos de bajos ingresos y en condiciones de vulnerabilidad para atender el déficit habitacional cuantitativo.
“A estas familias les ofrecemos modelos prefabricados, innovadores y accesibles para que puedan permanecer seguras y saludables durante cualquier fenómeno natural como es el caso de la temporada ciclónica o la actual pandemia”, dijo Cesarina Fabián, directora de Hábitat para la Humanidad República Dominicana.
“Construyamos Juntos para Familias” ha tenido un mayor desarrollo en la provincia de San Juan de la Maguana y se ha expandido en áreas como Santo Domingo, Samaná y Azua. En total se han construido alrededor de 130 casas con estos nuevos modelos que van desde planchas de ferro cemento, poliestireno expandido, bloques y madera con plástico reciclado, Paneles de cemento. Es un proyecto multianual, con subproyectos en comunidades específicas que por lo general duran entre 6 meses y un año.
“Sentimos la necesidad constante de buscar maneras de proteger nuestro medioambiente, con soluciones más sostenibles, e inculcar estos principios en las comunidades con las que trabajamos. De esta iniciativa surgieron investigaciones para llegar a este tipo de sistemas y materiales de construcción, con un enfoque en reciclaje”, añadió Fabián.
El uso de plástico reciclado hace que se reduzcan las emisiones de CO2, también reduce el volumen de material que va a parar a los vertederos, así como el consumo de agua y energía. Hay ventajas térmicas ya que se concentra menos el calor, representando mayor confort para la familia.
Todo esto busca un concepto de economía circular, y ecosistema cíclico, donde utilizamos el plástico, la comunidad hace una diferenciación de la basura, y ayuda en el proceso de trituración para generar ingresos, y se transforma y procesa a nivel local en material constructivo a ser colocado en un hogar por uso de 100 años o más.
Dentro de los beneficios de construir con estas tecnologías sobresalen los costos, ya que se calcula que construir una vivienda con este material es hasta un 30% más económico. También supone un ahorro en cuanto a tiempo y a personal, con nuestra asistencia técnica, una casa familiar puede levantarse en apenas 10 días y sólo serán necesarias 4 personas, siempre involucrando en el proceso de construcción a las familias servidas.
La entidad cuenta con facilidades para las familias según sus ingresos y niveles de vulnerabilidad, incluyen opciones de crédito, mixto de crédito-subsidio, y subsidio completo.
“Para llegar a más familias creamos alianzas con distintos sectores, entidades financieras como Banco Ademi, otras organizaciones no gubernamentales como Fundasep-Protecho, Nature Power Foundation, empresas con responsabilidad social, gobierno, entre otros”, apuntó la ejecutiva.
