SANTO DOMINGO, REPÚBLICA DOMINICANA. Junio 16, 2021.– Uber anunció el nombramiento de Victor Jaen como el nuevo Gerente General para Panamá y el Caribe como parte del compromiso de la app durante la reactivación económica.
Jaen, liderará un equipo enfocado en fortalecer el rol de la app de Uber a través de innovaciones continuas. Su objetivo es colaborar con las ciudades en su recuperación y brindar a los usuarios opciones de movilidad que le permitan adaptarse a esta nueva normalidad.
“Estoy muy contento de asumir este nuevo rol. Tenemos un gran equipo en la región lleno de personas talentosas que quieren continuar mejorando la experiencia de los usuarios y socios conductores en las ciudades donde la app está disponible”, comentó Jaen.
Entre los primeros proyectos que está manejando el Gerente General se cuenta la expansión de Uber a Jamaica; y en la República Dominicana, el lanzamiento del programa de empoderamiento de las mujeres “Juntas al Volante”, que tiene como objetivo ofrecer mayores oportunidades a las socias conductoras registradas en la plataforma.
Sus años en Uber le han mostrado el potencial de la tecnología, especialmente en tiempos de crisis. Por eso, considera vital el desarrollo de iniciativas que le permitan a los socios conductores obtener más oportunidades para generar ganancias adicionales de forma flexible y segura.
“Mi visión para Uber en la región viene con un compromiso reforzado con la seguridad y confiabilidad de la app. A raíz de los efectos de la pandemia, continuaremos innovando y elevando la experiencia de la app de Uber para usuarios y socio conductores en toda la región”, destacó el ejecutivo.
El ejecutivo se incorporó a la compañía en el 2016 al equipo de centros de activación y posteriormente, fue Gerente Senior de Operaciones y Logística de la región. Jaen cuenta con una licenciatura en ingeniería industrial de la Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá y una maestría en ingeniería The University of British Columbia.
