Fort Worth, Texas. Abril 2021.– José Freig ha sido nombrado como el nuevo Vicepresidente de Operaciones Internacionales para American Airlines. En su nueva posición, Freig estará al frente de la operación de la aerolínea en Latinoamérica, el Caribe, Canadá, Europa, Asia/Pacífico y Premium Guest Services.

“Es un gran orgullo para mí asumir la dirección de las operaciones internacionales de American. La integración de todos nuestros equipos alrededor del mundo nos ofrecerá una oportunidad única de crear nuevas sinergias y compartir mejores prácticas, jugando un papel clave en la recuperación de American”, comentó Freig.

Freig se incorporó a American en el 2008 como Director General de Asuntos Gubernamentales Internacionales y Director de Seguridad para American. Desde el 2018, Freig se ha desempeñado como Director General de American para América Latina y el Caribe y más recientemente ha ayudado a liderar la respuesta de la aerolínea al COVID-19, coordinando los esfuerzos de recuperación.

La división Internacional de American actualmente incluye una red global de más de 110 destinos y un equipo de más de 6,000 empleados. Este año la aerolínea planifica continuar con su recuperación global y además inaugurará servicio a nuevos destinos internacionales, incluyendo Tel Aviv, Israel (TLV), Bengaluru, India (BLR), Paramaribo, Surinam (PBM) y Samaná, República Dominicana.
