LA ALTAGRACIA, Higuey, R.D. Junio 21, 2021.- El Grupo Puntacana entregó al Ayuntamiento de este municipio y a la Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad del Este (EDEEste), una primera partida de 100 lámparas luminarias, fotoceldas y bombillas, que serán utilizadas para mejorar la iluminación de los barrios de esta demarcación.
La entrega la hizo el vicepresidente senior del Grupo Puntacana, Frank Elías Rainieri, durante un acto en las oficinas de EDEEste, con la participación de autoridades, y representantes de distintos sectores comunitarios de la ciudad de Higüey.
El objetivo fundamental de este programa de asistencia social desarrollado por Grupo Puntacana como parte de su programa de Responsabilidad Social Corporativa, es disminuir el déficit de lámparas del alumbrado público y fortalecer la seguridad ciudadana.
“En los últimos 50 años de la historia de Higüey, Grupo Puntacana ha estado presente en el proceso de desarrollo del municipio y la provincia, aportando soluciones, con profundo espíritu constructivo, a numerosos problemas comunitarios para mejorar las condiciones de vida de los ciudadanos”, expresó Frank Elías Rainieri, vicepresidente senior de la empresa.
El plan de donación continuará desarrollándose progresivamente en la medida en que las nuevas luminarias sean instaladas y se pongan en funcionamiento las viejas que carecen de fotoceldas y bombillas, indica una nota de la entidad.
El acto de entrega participó el alcalde de Higüey, Rafael Barón Duluc; Angel Raposo, miembro del Consejo Directivo Unificado de las Distribuidoras de Electricidad; Alain Astacio y Wendy Manuel Carpio, director Comercial y gerente General de EDEEste; Virgilio Cedano, senador de La Altagracia; Martina Pepen, gobernadora provincial, y demás miembros del poder legislativo de La Altagracia y otras autoridades locales.
Grupo Puntacana ha sido la empresa pionera en el desarrollo del turismo en la provincia La Altagracia, sirviendo de motor al crecimiento de toda la zona con la construcción de diversos proyectos turísticos e inmobiliarios, y el Aeropuerto Internacional de Punta Cana (AIPC), además del posicionamiento de Punta Cana como uno de los principales destinos a nivel internacional.
