El Banco de Reservas y el Archivo General de la Nación (AGN) firmaron un acuerdo de cooperación que fortalecerá la difusión del acervo cultural del país, mediante la realización de proyectos culturales y la edición de libros de comprobada relevancia historiográfica.
Las instituciones acordaron que cada año, el AGN le presente a Banreservas propuestas de obras valiosas con potencial para publicarlas de manera conjunta. Una vez elegido, cada título tendrá una tirada de 1,000 ejemplares que las dos organizaciones se distribuirán a partes iguales.
El convenio fue firmado por el administrador general de Banreservas, Samuel Pereyra, y el director general del Archivo General, el destacado historiador Roberto Cassá.
“Como Banco de todos los dominicanos, hoy aunamos esfuerzos con el interés genuino de que nuestros proyectos y ediciones logren rescatar, para las presentes y futuras generaciones, los episodios más importantes de nuestra historia, así como la vida de los hombres y mujeres que moldearon la Patria”, dijo Pereyra.
El administrador general de Banreservas explicó que esta iniciativa, que coincide con la celebración del octogésimo aniversario del banco, resulta significativa para la institución financiera, porque constituye una prueba fehaciente de su reiterado compromiso con la cultura y su profundo respeto por el cultivo de todas las artes y ciencias.
Publicará obra de Pedro Mir
El ejecutivo bancario anunció que dentro del programa de ediciones también se tiene previsto publicar la Obra Completa del Poeta Nacional Pedro Mir. “Es nuestro deseo que los proyectos y libros que surjan de este acuerdo lleguen a nuestros lectores y se conviertan en una permanente fuente para el estudio y la reflexión”, concluyó.
Esmero por la cultura
El director del AGN, Roberto Cassá, al expresar su satisfacción por la firma del acuerdo, dijo que le “consta que esta institución se ha caracterizado por el esmero en la cultura dominicana, ya que existe una prolongada y fructífera relación de trabajo con Banreservas. Esperamos que este convenio sea un nuevo punto de partida para realizaciones en beneficio de la República Dominicana.
La colaboración interinstitucional entre el banco y el AGN tiene varias décadas y ha tenido como resultado la reedición de algunas joyas del patrimonio bibliográfico nacional, entre las que figuran las Obras Completas del historiador José Gabriel García, en ocho tomos.
Este esfuerzo conjunto, formalizado con el acuerdo, también servirá como base para continuar el desarrollo de programas, proyectos e intercambios que sean de interés para ambas entidades.
