Santo Domingo, R.D. Miércoles 26 de mayo 2021.- El presidente de la Fuerza del Pueblo, Leonel Fernández, dijo que en estos momentos no se puede apostar a la Reforma Fiscal en el país. “No se puede pagar más impuestos en momentos de calamidad pública”, subrayó.
“Hemos pasado por la crisis más aguda desde la gran depresión”, apuntó Fernández para indicar que todos los países del mundo están pasando situaciones financieras difíciles.
Al ser entrevistado por periodistas de Multimedios El Caribe, el presidente de la Fuerza del Pueblo explicó que la Reforma debió hacerse antes, pero en estos momentos de crisis no están dadas las condiciones para que esta se dé. “Lo ideal sería esperar a que la economía se siga recuperando, porque en estos momentos es como un paciente que está en convalecencia”, enfatizó.
En torno al tema sustentó la postura de su partido de que “La Reforma Fiscal debe ser progresiva, que paguen los que más tienen, que grave las ganancias, la renta, la propiedad, como se ha hecho en países más desarrollados. No puede ser tomando como base el consumo, porque en este caso quienes saldrían más afectados sería la clase media y los más desposeídos”.
Considera evaluar retorno a clases en próximo año escolar
El presidente de la Fuerza del Pueblo, Leonel Fernández, dijo respecto al tema de retorno a las aulas, que sería en septiembre cuando él vería viable que inicie.
“No veo la necesidad de forzar una situación en medio de una incertidumbre, para septiembre tendríamos ya una panorámica más clara”, indicó el también Expresidente de la República.
Fernández explicó que estamos ya a escaso mes y medio de que termine este año académico 2020-2021 y que se entiende que ha sido un año atípico con un improvisado modelo a distancia para no perder el año.
Expresó que “Las lagunas son inmensas y las carencias son increíbles, el aprovechamiento escolar no ha sido igual”, sin embargo ante esto también explicó la realidad de que durante este período los planteles se han deteriorado y ameritan reacondicionamiento y crear todos los mecanismos para poder cumplir con protocolos.
Leonel asegura que Fuerza del Pueblo no es un partido dependiente del gobierno
“Somos un partido de oposición responsable que apuesta a la gobernabilidad, sin renunciar a ser críticos”, así definió Leonel Fernández el rol de la Fuerza del Pueblo.
Ante las preguntas de los periodistas, el presidente de esta organización política aclaró que las alianzas con el partido de gobierno fueron parciales- electorales, que pasados los comicios ya no existe ese vínculo.
Descartó que la Fuerza del Pueblo sea un partido dependiente o enlazado al gobierno y resumió que esta entidad política ha venido a llenar un vacío en el sistema de partidos existente en el país y que es una organización que seguirá creciendo.
