La Refinería Dominicana de Petróleo PDV (Refidomsa) y el Ministerio de Energía y Minas firmaron un acuerdo que busca garantizar la seguridad energética del país, uno de los ejes fundamentales del programa de Gobierno del presidente Luis Abinader.
El pacto, rubricado por el presidente de Refidomsa PDV, doctor Leonardo Aguilera, y el ministro de Energía, ingeniero Antonio Almonte, es el producto final de un amplio periodo de reuniones y consultas con expertos y actores del sector, en el marco del Pacto Eléctrico auspiciado por el jefe del Estado.
Al destacar la importancia del acuerdo, el doctor Aguilera expresó que desde la refinería, como empresa, “estamos comprometidos con el desarrollo industrial, económico y social del país, y en esta dirección hemos tomado la iniciativa de llegar a este acuerdo”.
“Desde esta empresa nos hemos comprometido con las iniciativas que beneficien a la República Dominicana, y nos unimos a trabajar por el lineamiento del Poder Ejecutivo para la eficiencia del sector energético”, resaltó.
Aguilera destacó que la Refinería Dominicana de Petróleo representa un eje transversal de todos los sectores productivos del país, por tratarse de la principal empresa del sector y representar el motor fundamental que garantiza el movimiento de todos los demás entes productivos.
Con el acuerdo, los actores se comprometen a trabajar juntos para lograr mejorar la producción y distribución, ante la demanda colectiva sobre el servicio energético, que por décadas ha sido deficiente, poco confiable y de alto costo.
Por su lado, el ministro Almonte resaltó el compromiso que el organismo que dirige de fortalecer la visión del presidente Abinader de impulsar el desarrollo del sector energético.
La firma del acuerdo se produjo durante un encuentro realizado en el Consejo de Administración de Refidomsa PDV.
