Gobierno y UE dialogan del Programa para el Fortalecimiento de la Gestión de las Finanzas Públicas

El objetivo del programa es asegurar buenas prácticas internacionales, promover la disciplina fiscal y la asignación estratégica de recursos en la administración pública

El Gobierno dominicano y la Unión Europea pasaron balance a la ejecución y el fortalecimiento del sistema nacional de gestión de las finanzas públicas, en el marco de la tercera reunión del Comité Director del Programa de Apoyo a la Reforma de la Administración de las Finanzas Públicas y la Movilización de Recursos Internos en República Dominicana (Progef).

La reunión la encabezaron el ministro de Hacienda, Jochi Vicente; el ministro de Economía, Planificación y Desarrollo, Miguel Ceara Hatton y el embajador de la Unión Europea en el país, Gianluca Grippa.

En el encuentro se realizó una revisión detallada de la situación, avances y desafíos del Plan de Acción del Programa para el Fortalecimiento de la Gestión de las Finanzas Públicas en República Dominicana (2020-2022).

El objetivo de este plan, que a su vez está financiado con los recursos del Progef, es asegurar que la administración financiera pública esté alineada con las buenas prácticas internacionales y promueva la disciplina fiscal, la asignación estratégica de recursos y la previsión eficiente de bienes y servicios públicos.

El embajador Grippa destacó la transparencia con que el actual gobierno abordó los temas de la agenda y aseguró que la UE continuará apoyando los esfuerzos que las actuales autoridades realizan para mejorar la calidad de vida de los ciudadanos dominicanos. En el diálogo, que se realizó en la sede del Ministerio de Hacienda, también se deliberaron temas relacionados al cumplimiento de los indicadores de desempeño en el año 2020; prioridades a mediano plazo y programación de la cooperación de la Unión Europea en el país.

Participaron, además, Derby de los Santos, viceministro del Tesoro, y Leonel Díaz, asesor de Gestión en Finanzas Públicas y Control Interno. Por parte del Ministerio de Economía estuvo presente también Olaya Dotel, viceministra de Cooperación Internacional. Acompañaron al embajador Grippa, María González, jefe de Cooperación, Alejandro Diz y Frederique Same-Ekobo, oficiales de programa.
