La nueva ruta sale desde el Aeropuerto Internacional de Filadelfia (PHL) hacia el Aeropuerto Internacional de Santiago (STI), los días lunes, miércoles y viernes, a las 9:25 mañana, llegando a suelo dominicano a la 1:00 p.m.; y sale desde Santiago a las 2:30 p.m., arribando a Filadelfia a las 6:05 p.m., horas locales.
De igual manera, American también anunció que, el servicio desde PHL hacia el Aeropuerto Internacional Las Américas en Santo Domingo (SDQ), ha aumentado a cuatro frecuencias semanales, los días martes, jueves, sábado y domingo.
Estos vuelos están siendo operados en aviones Boeing 737 con capacidad para 172 pasajeros, 16 en clase ejecutiva y 156 en cabina principal.
Actualmente American ofrece 148 vuelos semanales desde el país, conectando a Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, Santiago y Puerto Plata con los centros de conexiones de la aerolínea en Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami, Filadelfia y Nueva York. En junio, la aerolínea lanzará su quinto destino en el país, Samaná, conectando dos veces por semana con Charlotte.
