El Banco de Reservas de la República Dominicana ingresó al exclusivo círculo de los 50 bancos más grandes por activos de América Latina y el Caribe en 2021, un ranking que por primera vez ha sido alcanzado por una institución financiera dominicana.
La lista del top bancario de la región fue publicada por S&P Global Market Intelligence, especializado en investigación financiera, análisis y procesamiento de información sobre calificaciones crediticias para las tomas de decisiones de gobiernos y empresas.
Al expresar su satisfacción sobre el hito alcanzado por Banreservas, el administrador general Samuel Pereyra dijo que este nuevo posicionamiento representa un logro no solo para esa entidad bancaria, sino para todo el país.
“Esta valoración coloca a nuestra institución dentro de un importante contexto internacional, que generalmente es tomado en cuenta por inversionistas extranjeros que buscan contar con alianzas locales de sólida reputación, para que los acompañen en sus inversiones financieras en la consolidación de proyectos locales”, añadió.
Afirmó que este importante logro también es el resultado del respaldo que ha mantenido el Banco de su amplia clientela durante sus 80 años de historia; así como del Consejo de Directores y el esfuerzo constante de sus ejecutivos y colaboradores, que están comprometidos con ofrecer un servicio de alta calidad como lo demanda una banca moderna y diversificada.

Tras felicitar a Pereyra, a su equipo y sobre todo a los clientes de Banreservas, el superintendente de Bancos, Alejandro Fernández, en su cuenta de Twitter escribió que “a pesar de la mayor devaluación del RD$ en 2020, el país logró posicionar a uno de los nuestros entre los “Primeros 50 Bancos Más Grandes de América Latina”, según S&P Global.
Activos y utilidades
Al 30 de abril de este año, los activos de Banreservas ascendieron a RD$754,777.6 millones; las utilidades después de impuestos sumaron RD$4,535.2 millones; mientras que la cartera de préstamos bruta superó los RD$331,815 millones y los depósitos totalizaron RD$601,512 millones.
Banreservas ingresó en el número 48 al ranking de los 50 bancos más grandes de América Latina y el Caribe, elaborado por S&P Global Market Intelligence. Los primeros lugares son ocupados por bancos de Brasil y México, con 11 y 8 instituciones, respectivamente, seguidos por Chile, Colombia y Perú, con siete, cinco y cinco, sucesivamente.
