Santo Domingo, R.D. Junio 10, 2021.- El empresario turístico Rafael Blanco Canto, llamó a Francisco Dominguez Brito a hacer política responsable y no poner en riesgo los más de 300 mil empleos que este sector genera, de los cuales dependen más de 1 millón de personas.
Blanco Canto consideró que carece de base científica y estadística el llamado que hizo el político del PLD a que se aumenten los controles en los aeropuertos dominicanos, ya que la evidencia demuestra que en los polos turísticos del país la incidencia de la pandemia es muy baja y que la positividad de los turistas salientes es casi cero.
“Yo no creo que sea correcto decir que para que podamos frenar la pandemia hay que poner más controles en los aeropuertos; la realidad de Santo Domingo y algunas urbes del país no es la realidad de los polos turísticos y la nación necesita que el turismo se recupere para que todos volvamos a la normalidad” declaró Blanco Canto.
El también ex Presidente del Consejo Nacional de la Empresa Privada (CONEP) aseguró que República Dominicana es ejemplo en el mundo de cómo manejar correctamente la pandemia en el sector turístico, y por eso somos el país que más rápido se está recuperando en el Caribe, manteniendo control sanitario y crecimiento económico a la par.
Agregó que el 70% de los turistas que llegan al país son procedentes de Estados Unidos, donde más del 90% de la población está vacunada por lo que proponer esas medidas es atentar contra el bienestar del país.
