Santo Domingo, R.D. Febrero 24, 2021.- La Asociación Dominicana de Exportadores (ADOEXPO) recibió este miércoles de la Oficina Nacional de la Propiedad Industrial (ONAPI) el certificado de registro de “Dom Tropical Avocado from Dominican Republic” (Aguacates Tropicales de República Dominicana), la primera marca colectiva con que se comercializará de este producto agrícola criollo en la zona Oeste de los Estados Unidos.
“En esta región estadounidense existe un consumo importante de este cultivo local que está posicionado con el 10 por ciento de ese mercado y que logró el año pasado exportaciones por USD$30,490,425”, destacó la presidenta de ADOEXPO, Elizabeth Mena, al recibir la certificación en la sede de la ONAPI, de manos de su director general, Salvador Ramos y su directora de signos distintivos, Michelle Guzmán y que contó con la asistencia de Rodrigo Carvajal, director del Programa Exporta Calidad del International Executive Service Corps (IESC).
Mena explicó que Agroindustria Ocoeña, AMR Agro, Exportadora Tavarez y Grupo 33 son las primeras cuatro empresas dominicanas que usarán esta “marca colectiva”, y señaló que “además de apoyar la producción de esta fruta, promoverá la riqueza nutritiva de este importante rubro criollo”.
Agregó que ADOEXPO reúne esfuerzos para desarrollar acciones y fortalecer esta “marca colectiva”, y forma parte de un acuerdo que suscribió con el Programa Exporta Calidad (PEC), que es financiado por el Departamento de Agricultura de Estados Unidos (USDA) y ejecutado por el IESC.
En ese sentido, indicó que ADOEXPO impulsará esta “marca colectiva” en Estados Unidos, con el financiamiento de ese programa, a través de la participarán en ferias, degustaciones, promoción en las plataformas digitales, entre otras actividades.
Agregó que los exportadores de estas frutas podrán comercializar sus productos bajo la marca sombrilla de Aguacate Tropical, con apoyo y asistencia en el mercado destino.
