PUERTO PLATA.- En Casa Colonial Boutique Hotel la Asociación de Propietarios de Hoteles, Condominios y Establecimientos Comerciales de Playa Dorada realizó el Caribbean Cigar Night 2015 a beneficio de la Primera Beca Universitaria Playa Dorada.
La séptima versión del evento que reúne a la máxima representación de la industria tabaquera dominicana, fue una fiesta que unió el arte del maestro de la acuarela Rafi Vásquez, el jazz de New Orleans a cargo de Anthony Jefferson, los ritmos y mezclas de DJ Poché, y la propuesta culinaria del chef ejecutivo de Casa Colonial, Roberto di Carlo, la cual consistió en una variación de once tapas pasadas.
Amantes del tabaco, la música, el arte, la gastronomía, vinos y destilados de todo el país, acudieron a esta cita anual que se ha consolidado como uno de los más esperados encuentros tabaqueros de la Región Norte.
Roberto Casoni, Eduardo Comprés, Paul Brugal, Abraham Selman, Rafael Silverio Galán y Miguel Ángel Jiménez Messón, miembros de la junta directiva del complejo Playa Dorada, agradecieron el apoyo brindado al evento, a través de unas palabras dirigidas por el ingeniero Jiménez Messón.
“El Caribbean Cigar Night, desde su origen ha defendido causas justas, y como novedad, este año nos complace anunciar que lo recaudado en las boletas esta noche será destinado a la Primera Beca Universitaria de Playa Dorada, iniciativa con la que queremos dar apoyo a estudiantes meritorios, hijos de nuestros recursos humanos mejor valorados”, expresó Jiménez.
En el marco de la actividad se desarrolló un segmento de rifas de productos de las casas auspiciadoras. Además, se subastó el art performance del artista Rafi Vásquez, una obra de 60×44 pulgadas de medida, inspirada en campos de tabaco, la cual recaudó US$4,500 dólares, que también fueron destinados a la causa defendida.
José Maria Espart y Jean Michel Louis, coordinadores del Cigar Night, manifestaron su gratitud a todos los involucrados en la actividad, haciendo reconocimiento especial a la familia García, anfitriones de la noche.
