Neyba, R.D. Abril 2021.- La ciudad de Neyba, epicentro del cultivo de la uva en República Dominicana, y uno de los pocos lugares característicos de este cultivo en el Caribe, fue la sede del recorrido realizado por Hecmilio Galván, Director Ejecutivo de la Unidad de Evaluación y Seguimiento de los Proyectos de la Presidencia UESP en el que reconoció los principales proyectos de este sector productivo, de tanto potencial agrícola y turístico del sur del país.

Hecmlio Galván, quien estuvo acompañado de la Gobernadora Civil Juana Mateo y de Eliferbo Herasme, Director Ejecutivo de UTEPDA, visitó la Bodega Cacique Enriquillo ubicada en la Plaza Cacique, que es donde se fabrica el vino y donde sostuvo un encuentro con la Cooperativa de Vitivinicultores de Neyba, COOPEVINE, institución a la que prometió el respaldo del Estado.

Galván ponderó la calidad de la uva de Neyba y sobre todo el avance que han tenido en la fabricación del vino, el cual ya se encuentra en capacidad de ser presentado en el mercado para empezar, junto a otros, a convertirse en un vino bandera dominicano.

Durante el recorrido, el funcionario también sostuvo una reunión en la Sede del Instituto Nacional de la Uva INUVA dirigido por el Sr. José Santos Manzueta, donde participó la Senadora de Bahoruco Melania Salvador y el exsenador Francisco Jiménez, así como importantes personalidades de la provincia Bahoruco

El Director del INUVA, Jose Santos, presentó a la UESP una cartera importante de proyectos que llevarán a cabo con el apoyo del Ministerio de Agricultura, entre los que se encuentran el fomento de más de 2,000 tareas de producción de uva de mesa, el cual tendría una inversión de cercad e 300 millones de pesos, así como la recuperación de la estación experimental de variedades en convenio con la Dirección General de Desarrollo Fronterizo, entre otros.

Hecmilio Galván, se comprometió a respaldar decididamente la producción de uva y anunció el interés del presidente Luís Abinader en la creación de empleo y riqueza en las provincias del país, teniendo la uva un lugar esencial ya que incluye el tema agrícola, el tema industrial y artesanal y el turístico.

LA Ruta Productiva de la Uva también incluyó la Visita al Parador Fotográfico de la Uva, la Inauguración de La Plaza Turística del Vino, propiedad del empresario Alexander Reyes, así como la 1ra Reunión del Clúster Eco turístico de la Provincia Bahoruco, donde el Director de la UESP juramentó el Comité Gestor de esta Entidad el cual está presidido por el Alcalde Municipal, José Darío Cepeda.
