Santo Domingo, 19 de julio ¿Qué avances se han producido en la Dirección General de Impuestos Internos (DGII) durante la gestión de Luis Valdez? Para responder a esta interrogante, la Cámara Americana de Comercio de la República Dominicana (AMCHAMDR) organizará un encuentro virtual con el actual director general de la entidad.
El evento se realizará el próximo miércoles 21 de julio a las 4:00 PM a través de una plataforma virtual para presentarles a los socios y relacionados de AMCHAMDR la cultura que ha implementado Luis Valdez en el manejo de ese organismo estatal desde el inicio de sus funciones el pasado 17 de agosto de 2020.
Esta será la primera disertación del funcionario en el AMCHAMDR Encounter, donde se espera además que presente su visión sobre el contexto tributario en la República Dominicana y cómo se han comportado las recaudaciones en el marco de la crisis sanitaria que vive el país.

SOBRE EL ORADOR
Valdez tiene una licenciatura en Derecho por la Universidad de la Tercera Edad (UTE), un Máster en Derecho Tributario y Procesal Tributario por la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) y también cuenta con diplomados sobre el Mercado Hipotecario y Fideicomiso por la Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE), en economía Política (Instituto Jose Francisco Peña Gómez).
Previo a su designación como Director General de la DGII, Valdez fue mensajero interno de la institución entre los años de 1981 a 1984.
Posteriormente pasó a ser auxiliar del Subdirector Jurídico hasta 1986 cuando pasa al Departamento de Supervisión de Agencias locales hasta 1989.
Desde 1996 al 1999 fue director del Complejo Industrial Municipal y luego Director de Impuestos y Renta Municipales hasta 2002. Además, fue consultor presupuestal del programa de Bienestar Social del hoy Ministerio de Economía, Planificación y Desarrollo (MEPyD)-Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo entre 2002-2003 y luego Director Administrativo del Gabinete Social 2003-2004. Desde 2007 al 2016 estuvo laborando como consultor a nivel privado.
