SANTO DOMINGO, República Dominicana.- El director ejecutivo del Instituto Nacional de Protección de los Derechos del Consumidor (Pro Consumidor), Eddy Alcántara, anunció que a partir de mañana lunes activará un gran operativo para vigilar las ofertas, publicidad y promoción de los productos ofertados en comercios durante la celebración del Día de las Madres.
Alcántara aseveró que no permitirá que un proveedor publicite ofertas que no corresponden con el artículo que está vendiendo en el punto de venta o no cumplan con las características y calidad de lo que establece la normativa de protección de los derechos del consumidor.
“Incrementaremos las acciones de inspección y vigilancia para evitar que comerciantes comentan abusos en contra de los consumidores”, precisó.
Dijo que para los fines, se hará un despliegue masivo con el personal de Análisis de Publicidad y Precios, Buenas Prácticas Comerciales e inspectores para constatar que los artículos, detalles y productos tengan los precios a la vista, además de verificar que se respeten las ofertas que se tengan al público en general.
“Este despliegue se hará en gran parte del territorio nacional y vigilaremos que los comercios respeten la Ley 358-05 de Protección al Consumidor”, agregó el funcionario.
Sostuvo que se contará con una jornada de verificación de precios de electrodomésticos, servicios y otros productos ofertados, en busca de evitar que los derechos de los consumidores se vean afectados por publicidad no veraz o engañosa.
El director de Pro Consumidor, además anunció que en el portal web de la institución, se encuentran publicados los precios de los principales electrodomésticos y otros productos para que el consumidor tome una decisión de consumo inteligente y de acuerdo a su presupuesto.
Dijo que la entidad no es represiva, sino preventiva por lo que se promoverá, además, la adopción de buenas prácticas comerciales en los proveedores de bienes y servicios.
Manifestó que este operativo también contará con el componente de educación al consumidor, para que los compradores en estas fechas conozcan los derechos que le asisten como consumidores y reciban la debida información.
“Los consumidores tendrán un acompañamiento de cerca de Pro Consumidor para velar por sus intereses”, subrayó finalmente el funcionario.
