Asimismo, se ofrecerán servicios para la carga de sistemas operativos y programas, así como de reconstrucción, reparación y posventa de dispositivos, precisó un documento de Presidencia.
El acuerdo incluye la transferencia de conocimientos para «contribuir con el desarrollo del talento e innovación en el campo de la tecnología», entre otras cosas.
El presidente Luis Abinader encabezó una actividad en el Palacio Nacional junto a la vicepresidenta Raquel Peña, mediante el cual el Estado dominicano, a través del Parque Cibernético de Santo Domingo, firmó el Programa Fabricación en RD: servicios posventa de dispositivos electrónicos para el sector educación.
Abinader precisó que con la firma del memorando de entendimiento se busca eliminar la brecha digital «existente en todo el país».
El mandatario definió el acuerdo de «extraordinario» pues, a su juicio, las industrias de zonas francas pasan a otro nivel y se producirá una buena competencia a nivel de precios y calidad.
«Lo importante es que desde ya llegamos a un acuerdo de mantenimiento para que si se daña una de estas tabletas haya lugar donde repararlas en el país y que no se pierdan», sostuvo el gobernante.
Encore Repair Services opera una planta en el Parque Cibernético de Santo Domingo, ubicado a unos 23 kilómetros al este de la capital.
