Una comisión del Instituto Agrario Dominicano (IAD) encabezada por el subdirector general Ing. Rivera Amador visitó varios asentamiento agrícola en la provincia de Azua con la finalidad de ponerlos a producir.
Dentro de los asentamientos visitados se encuentra el de la comunidad de Carrizal que incluye a parceleros de otras comunidades como Majagual y el municipio de Peralta. Este proyecto agrícola cuenta hasta el momento con un reservorio de agua y un sistema de riego por goteo en fase de distribución.
Amador estableció que este proyecto de asentamiento será sometido a un proceso de limpieza, saneamiento y posterior terminación para ser entregado finalmente a los diferentes productores.
En el recorrido que incluyó a varias comunidades de la provincia participó el encargado de producción del IAD Ing. Manuel Mateo y el encargado provincial de la institución Ingeniero Lover Vargas. Este último planteó la importancia de estos asentamientos.
Otro de los asentamientos visitados fue el de la comunidad del kilómetro 11 Sabana Yegua donde hay una asociación de parceleros conformada de más 140 socios que desde hace catorce años espera la habilitación y entrega de las tierras que dicen estar deseosos de poner a producir.
Los parceleros agrupados recibieron con beneplácito la comisión que les visitó y manifestaron sentirse esperanzados en que ahora su sueño se hará realidad al poder trabajar las tierras con apoyo del Estado.
