Santiago, R;D. Julio 20, 2021.- La empresa Cementos Cibao afirmó que trabaja dentro del marco legal de la República Dominicana respaldada por todos los permisos de rigor para operar la concesión minera de loma Los Picos, ubicada en Los Melaos, paraje del municipio de Baitoa.
La cementera aclaró que su concesión minera cuenta con los permisos correspondientes a la Licencia de Extracción del Ministerio de Energía y Minas, Licencia Ambiental del Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales, y Permiso de Construcción de la vía con paso desnivel del Ministerio de Obras Públicas.
Mediante un comunicado explicó que, en lo relativo a la Licencia de Extracción, este permiso fue otorgado mediante la resolución No. XXIX-99 de fecha 14 de octubre del 1999, a través de la Secretaría de Estado de Industria y Comercio, entidad que para ese año poseía las atribuciones que hoy día ostenta el Ministerio de Energía y Minas, en virtud de la ley 100-13 que creó dicho Ministerio en el año 2013.
La empresa enfatizó que sus operaciones siguen los principios de una minería eficiente y sostenible, amparada bajo las leyes del país y acorde con los más altos estándares mineros internacionales, cuidando los recursos naturales y cumpliendo estrictas regulaciones para la protección medioambiental.
Cementos Cibao reiteró que sus metas institucionales son compatibles con el desarrollo sustentable de la sociedad y en este sentido, mantiene su apertura al diálogo y a la colaboración, como pilares de su filosofía y accionar socialmente responsable de 57 años de trayectoria.
