Tiene como objetivo beneficiar y proveer de una póliza de seguro de salud y asistencia médica gratuita a los turistas que visitan el país como destino hotelero, obteniendo un respaldo significativo, oportuno y responsable para el disfrute de sus vacaciones.
Este reconocimiento fue entregado por el Viceministro de Salud, Eladio Pérez, la señora Amelia Reyes, Vicepresidenta de la Asociación Dominicana de Turismo de Salud y el Doctor Alejandro Cambiaso, Presidente de la Asociación Dominicana de Turismo de Salud , al Banco de Reservas en manos del Subadministrador de Empresas Subsidiarias, el señor Francisco Elías, en un acto realizado en El Embajador Royal Hideaway Hotel, donde se reconoció también, a Seguros Reservas, a la Asociación de Hoteles y Restaurantes (ASONAHORES) y al Ministerio de Turismo.
Fue reconocido por su innovación, desarrollo e implementación del Plan de Asistencia Turismo Seguro RD, un producto que resguarda la salud de los turistas ante situaciones de emergencias médicas y Covid-19, favoreciendo la reactivación del turismo de forma segura en la República Dominicana.
El señor Víctor J. Rojas, agradeció el respaldo y esfuerzo del Banco de Reservas a cargo de su Administrador General, el Señor Samuel Pereyra y el Ministro de Turismo, el señor David Collado, por su compromiso y responsabilidad junto a Seguros Reservas para continuar promoviendo a la recuperación del turismo en la República Dominicana, a través del Plan de Asistencia para los turistas en busca de minimizar los efectos que la pandemia nos ha dejado, promoviendo de esta manera la recuperación responsable que priorice la salud y maximice el potencial para la creación de empleos, crecimiento económico y que el sector turismo y salud continúe desarrollándose de forma sostenible.
El Congreso Internacional Turismo de Salud y Bienestar es la principal actividad del sector en la región del Caribe y constituye una plataforma de integración multisectorial, innovación, networking, desarrollo de negocios y oportunidades de inversión, dirigido a los principales sectores de turismo, salud, hotelero, financiero, laboratorios clínicos, asegurador, educativo, legal y gobierno.
El turismo de salud es una actividad en pleno crecimiento, íntimamente relacionada con la Globalización de los servicios de salud, el envejecimiento poblacional, las largas listas de espera, los altos costos de salud en países de primer mundo, como también, la seguridad del destino y calidad de la oferta del país receptor, donde se puedan identificar recursos para nuevos proyectos de inversión y desarrollo de empresas de dispositivos médicos.
