Distrito Nacional.-Julio 28, 2021.- El ingeniero Eduardo Estrella, presidente del Senado de la República, resaltó el impacto positivo que genera el programa de prevención que desarrolla el Consejo Nacional de Drogas (CND) en todo el país a favor de niños, niñas, adolescentes y jóvenes.
“Vemos muy positivo el trabajo que realiza el Consejo Nacional de Drogas bajo la dirección de Jaime Marte Martínez, ya que los mensajes de prevención llegan a los sectores más vulnerables del país”, dijo Estrella al recibir en su despacho a Marte Martínez.
Durante el encuentro, el senador Estrella (Partido Dominicanos por el Cambio-Santiago) y Marte Martínez, pasaron revista a distintos temas de interés para reducir el consumo de sustancias ilícitas y aspectos relativos a la Ley 50-88 y la necesidad de una evaluación a la misma, para adecuarla a los nuevos tiempos.
Miembro honorífico
En el marco de la reunión, Marte Martínez impuso el pin del CND con el cual designó al senador Estrella, presidente del Senado, asesor honorífico del organismo rector de las políticas de prevención de consumo de drogas.
Dijo aceptar con gran satisfacción formar parte de una institución de tanto prestigio como el CND, tras señalar que estará listo para brindar los servicios que les sean requeridos para aportar un granito de arena a las labores preventivas.
Sin descanso
De su lado, Marte Martínez dijo que desde el CND se seguirá trabajando sin descanso para llevar los mensajes preventivos y las orientaciones a las zonas más vulnerables del país, tal y como ha instruido el presidente de la República, Luis Abinader.
De igual forma, agradeció el respaldo expresado y la alta valoración de parte de Estrella, presidente del Senado.
Recordó que los técnicos del Consejo visitan cada día clubes, ligas, iglesias, juntas de vecinos, empresas privadas, instituciones del Estado y distintas personalidades, para comprometerlas en la lucha contra el uso de sustancias psicoactivas.
