Santo Domingo, R.D. Mayo 12, 2021.- La doctora Biviana Riveiro Disla, directora ejecutiva del Centro de Exportación e Inversión de la República Dominicana (ProDominicana), informó que las exportaciones de bienes exhiben un crecimiento interanual de un 85% con respecto al año 2020. “Si bien es cierto, que al compararlo con el año 2020 este valor es sesgado por la reducción importante debido a COVID-19, no menos cierto es que cuando comparamos este comportamiento con el mismo mes del año 2019 esta variación relativa se posiciona en un importante crecimiento de un 35%.”
Estados Unidos fue el destino que obtuvo la mayor parte de los productos dominicanos exportados con un incremento de +US$ 254.7 millones adicionales, equivalente a un crecimiento interanual de +103%. Destacándose también India con un incremento de +US$139.9 millones, Haití con un aumento en +US$50.3 millones, entre otros 97 mercados que experimentaron crecimiento positivo durante el mes de abril.
“Los productos que reflejaron un incremento importante fueron los Cigarros “Puros” en un 321% en el mes de abril 2021, lo cual equivale a un incremento de US$64.9 millones. En términos de relevancia, seguido por las exportaciones de oro en bruto con un incremento de US$87.3 millones, y a su vez, por las ventas de artículos de joyería US$39.3 millones” indicó Riveiro.
El sector zonas francas industriales y especiales experimentó un crecimiento de un 110%, gracias a los esfuerzos del gobierno de impulsar y dinamizar este sector, así como el encadenamiento productivo con el sector nacional. Otro crecimiento importante fue en las exportaciones de productos del régimen nacional en un 65%.
“El crecimiento positivo de 23% durante el primer cuatrimestre del año 2021, es producto de una variación relativa de un 31% en el sector de zonas francas, y a su vez, un incremento de las exportaciones del régimen nacional en 14%” puntualizó la Directora Ejecutiva de ProDominicana.
