Santo Domingo, RD. El Instituto Dominicano de las Telecomunicaciones (Indotel), en coordinación con la Federación Dominicana de Municipios (Fedomu) y la Liga Municipal Dominicana (LMD), sostuvo un encuentro para coordinar acciones con miras a lograr conectividad en todos los municipios del país.
Entre las metas a trabajar en conjunto, para su aplicación homogénea en todas las alcaldías están, la emisión de ordenanzas de regulación y la elaboración de procedimientos sobre las autorizaciones a las prestadoras de telecomunicaciones para la instalación de estos servicios.
Asimismo, la agilización de trámites de manera que se sepa en qué tiempo va a estar lista una autorización; las tarifas a aplicar según las tres categorías definidas de municipios conforme a su territorio y población y la creación de una ventanilla única para recibir todas las solicitudes a nivel nacional.
El presidente del Indotel, Nelson Arroyo, puso como marco de referencia de estas acciones que el Gobierno dominicano ha decidido como una prioridad el acceso a la tecnología, a la vez que recalcó que conforme se mantenga un ambiente de armonía y concordia entre las entidades involucradas, será mucho mejor para lograr el desarrollo tecnológico de los municipios.
“El acceso a las tecnologías se ha convertido en una necesidad, por lo que debe haber unidad de criterio para lograr la conectividad en todo el país”, sostuvo Arroyo.
En ese mismo orden, la directora ejecutiva del Indotel, Julissa Cruz, dijo que de acuerdo con el decreto 539-20 el órgano regulador de las telecomunicaciones dio a conocer, junto al presidente de la República, los pliegos de licitación del espectro radioeléctrico para la implementación de la red 5G y eso va a requerir un despliegue de infraestructura a nivel nacional que demanda el apoyo de los municipios, al igual que para llevar a cabo el Plan Nacional de Banda Ancha que instruye el referido decreto.
En esta reunión del Indotel con las máximas autoridades de la municipalidad, estuvieron presentes por la LMD, su secretario general, Víctor D’ Aza; por Fedomu, su presidente, Kelvin Cruz; así como funcionarios de las tres instituciones.
