Miches, R.D. Julio 2, 2021.- La cadena hotelera Viva Wyndham Resorts inició la construcción de un hotel de 750 habitaciones en Miches, en un acto que contó con la presencia del Presidente Luis Abinader.
El hotel, que abrirá sus puertas en el 2023, tendrá una inversión de RD$3,500 millones en su primera etapa y generará 500 empleos directos y 1500 indirectos, convirtiendo a Viva Wyndham Resorts en la primera empresa de capital dominicano en establecerse en la zona de Miches.
Ettore Colussi, presidente de Viva Wyndham Resorts, dijo que para Viva Wyndham este hotel “es el banderazo de un nuevo período de expansión en el turismo de nuestro país y de la región que, en principio, nos suma al desarrollo de Miches” para luego participar en el proyecto turístico de Pedernales, y en el campo internacional, en Jamaica.
“Porque creemos en los destinos del país y confiamos en el gobierno que lo dirige, estamos aquí hoy iniciando el primero de los dos hoteles que se construirán en este complejo turístico, el cual tendrá 750 habitaciones y una inversión estimada en 3,500 millones de pesos en su primera etapa” detalló Colussi.
El presidente de la cadena hotelera explicó que la propiedad iniciará con un hotel familiar de 486 habitaciones y luego un segundo desarrollo de 264 unidades orientado al mercado adulto.
Colussi destacó que Viva Wyndham y sus socios se caracterizan por “ser pioneros” en la historia del turismo dominicano, “en el desarrollo de Bayahibe como destino turístico, en la creación de una de las primeras cadenas hoteleras todo incluido nacidas en República Dominicana”, y “la primera empresa hotelera Dominicana en establecerse en el exterior, en México y Bahamas.
Viva Resorts es pionera, además, en la adopción de prácticas sustentables como la certificación Bandera Azul, la certificación internacional Cristal, acciones pro medioambiente, incluyendo los Sistemas de Generación Eléctrica Solar con Paneles Fotovoltaicos en Samaná, Dominicus, Playa Dorada, Cabarete y Bahamas.
Colussi explicó que realizan esta inversión porque “creemos en el presente y futuro de nuestro país como destino turístico exitoso, y también porque nos contagia el entusiasmo con que el Presidente Luis Abinader asume su rol de líder, quien se ha dedicado a poner en movimiento el turismo” como el motor que devolverá el dinamismo a la economía dominicana.
El hotel Viva Wyndham Miches, en su primera etapa, tendrá tres edificios de habitaciones, un área de piscina de 853 metros cuadrados, plazas al aire libre, un edificio de locales comerciales, discoteca, gimnasio, anfiteatro con capacidad para 1,100 personas, salón para eventos, restaurantes a la carta y buffet, tres bares y un café-heladería, y un espacio dedicado a los miembros del Viva Club. El diseño arquitectónico es de Antonio Imbert y la principal firma constructora es Kuky Silverio Industrial Ingeniería.
