El presidente del Centro de Exportación e Inversión de República Dominicana (CEI- RD), Jean Alain Rodríguez, señaló ayer que en el 2014 se alcanzaron ganancias de “US$1,926 millones en productos agropecuarios exportados en el mundo”, esto representó un aumento de un 8% en comparación con el año 2013.
Rodríguez indicó que en el año 2013 se logró la presencia de más de 130 compradores, 830 citas de negocios y cerrar contactos a favor del sector agropecuario por un valor de US$212 millones y para este año esperan superar los US$200 millones y a traer más de 200 compradores internacionales.
También resaltó que República Dominicana está exportando más de 3,780 líneas de productos a 170 países entre ellos Sudán, Kosovo, entre otros.
En el mismo ámbito, el presidente ejecutivo de la Junta Agroempresarial Dominicana (JAD), Osmar Benítez, informó que en Europa y Estados Unidos, que son los principales puntos de exportación para República Dominicana, los ingresos superan los US$100,000 millones en la compra de frutas y vegetales raros, “porque los mercados quieren probar lo exótico”, apuntó.
Explicó que este año se ha superado los US$100 millones en ventas de vegetales orientales, esto se debe a que el país tiene las condiciones tropicales y logísticas para llegar a los mercados consumidores que aquellos países que compiten con R.D.
Igualmente destacó que se están conservando los productos podridos como el aguacate y el mango para usarlos en productos cosméticos.
Benítez refirió que “Agroalimentaria 2015 será una verdadera oportunidad de tener contacto directo con cientos de productores dominicanos quienes exhibirán las más amplias ofertas de frutas y vegetales frescos, convencionales como orgánicos, tabacos y bebidas.
“Durante tres días, productores y exportadores dominicanos, junto a empresas nacionales y multinacionales en los sectores de alimentos, tabacos y bebidas, se reunirán en un sólo lugar para presentar al mundo los mejores productos de RD”.
